Pain Relief and Alternatives - Using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Methods
This section shows two important conclusions.
1. Acupuncture Analgesic - A.A. - is very effective in treating chronic pain, helping from 55% to 85% of patients, which compares favorably with the effects of potent drugs (e. g., morphine helps in 70% of cases).
2. It is more effective than placebo, indicating a real physical effect.
These conclusions are based on evidence collected in three classes of studies - all studies have been omitted in which fewer than two treatment sessions were given to each patient:
Studies in which acupuncture was compared with TENS, acupuncture was slightly more effective, but the differences were not statistically significant, the success rate was 85% - 90% even after 4 - 8 months follow-up.
If A.A. is better than or equal to conventional methods, and if A.A. is safer than drugs, then A.A .should become the method of choice for treating certain chronic pains.

What should I expect from treatment?
‘Interx’® therapy is a most comfortable treatment. The procedure will involve applying the hand held device (which you see above) directly to the skin, on or outside the injured or painful area .
The sensation of the electrical impulse will resemble a tingling or vibrating sensation. Your practitioner will adjust the sensation as needed throughout the treatment. Typical treatment sessions will last from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the complexity of condition.
The number of treatment sessions required will be determined by your practitioner. The contents of this short article are for informational purposes only. Questions and medical concerns should be directed to your practitioner.
Generally a course of treatments is recommended over several weeks for optimal results. It is essential to complete the entire treatment course to experience the full benefits of Interx. The treatment activates the nerve endings which may cause a temporary aggravation of symptoms, light-headedness or tiredness. It is not unusual to experience improved sleeping patterns following treatment.
The full effect of a single treatment is generally experienced within a couple of hours and is often sustained for quite some time surprisingly early on in the course. The cumulative effects of more than one treatment may enhance these results.
What is Interx Therapy?
InterX® therapy is the targeted application of Interactive Neuro-stimulation to manage and relieve the symptoms of pain and injury.
InterX® therapy is applied using a hand-held device which delivers gentle dynamic electrical impulses and stimulates the skin at the area of pain or inflammation.
How does InterX® work?
1. Interactive stimulation via fixed electrodes is applied to areas of pain or injury.
2. The feedback from the skin in treated areas alters the stimulation that is delivered by the InterX. Primary treatment areas are identified by changes of skin colour, texture or sensation.
3. Treatment will then be targeted to those specific areas which have been identified as optimal treatment points.
4. Because the InterX® therapy provides the ability to target treatment on optimal points, the benefit of treatment may be more effective than other modalities.
Who can be treated?
InterX® therapy—is effective across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. It has been fount that the sooner treatment is started after an injury, the greater the healing effects and pain relief.
Most people can be treated using InterX therapy. It is particularly effective in the reduction and management of pain and the resulting increase in range of motion.
Caution should be taken when using any electrical impulse devices as they may interfere with other electrical medical products. The use by a patient in the home would be only under conditions that meet with safety standards and after training, the hire or purchase of these devices may be arranged.
Your practitioner may advise against treatment if:
• You have a pacemaker, insulin pump or other implanted functioning devices
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have active cancerous tissue or are undergoing chemotherapy
• You have a history of epilepsy or other seizures

NEWS RELEASE - Giving Professional Rugby a Helping Hand
InterX® is confirmed as an important part of the rehabilitation program for England in the 2007 Rugby World Cup Tournament.
Plano, Texas, USA – Neuro Resource Group (NRG), the manufacturer of InterX® products, announced that InterX products were included in the rehabilitation programs of several England rugby players in the Rugby World Cup Tournament in 2007.
Jason Robinson received InterX Therapy as part of his rehabilitation program following a hamstring injury during England’s first game against South Africa in the World Cup tournament. Phil Pask, the Senior Physio for the England team for the last three Rugby World Cups, explains how he implemented InterX into his treatment protocol.
“I used InterX Therapy as part of our intensive rehabilitation program to see if we could get Jason back into the tournament. With a confirmed grade two hamstring tear, I expected that pain and inflammation would restrict the intensity of and progression through the rehabilitation process.
